Configuring Credit Cards with PAYware Connect

Overview
The TallySales Management System offers integrated credit card and debit card processing. TallySales fully integrated EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) payment processing is fast, secure, reliable and PCI compliant. Integrated credit and debit cards provides increased flexibility for your customers when making purchases, saving you time and eliminating double entry. The TallySales Management System uses secure internet technology to process and authorize cards in seconds.
This Technical Release will explain the steps needed to configure the TallySales Management System with PAYware Connect.
Configure the Authorization Server
In general terms, an Authorization Server is a unit within the TallySales Management System that manages communications between the TallySales clients and a third party interface. The Authorization Server can be configured for several different interfaces, including Credit Card Authorization, Check Authorization, and E-TopUp processing.
Configuring the Authorization Server's General Settings
If the unit desired to be the Authorization Server is not currently configured as an Authorization Server, the general settings will need to be configured prior to the credit card settings.
A store can only be configured with one Authorization Server.
- From the Enterprise Tab of TallyExplorer, select the Unit to configure the Authorization Server on.
- Select the Authorization Server check-box.
- Select the Authorization Server Properties Link (The Modify Authorization Server window appears at the General Tab).
Define the Server Port.
Any unused Server Port can be defined; however, TallySoft recommends using Port # 52644 for the Authorization Server.
- Optional: Configure the Client Response Timeout.
- Optional: Configure the System Maintenance Time.
- Optional: Select an Email Envelope Type.
- Optional: Select the Logging methods.
- Optional: Configure the Automatic Batch Process.
- Select Save.
- Select Exit (The Modify Authorization Server window closes and returns to the TallyExplorer window).
Select Save.
Configuring the Authorization Server's Credit Card Settings
- From the Enterprise Tab of TallyExplorer, select the Unit to configure the Authorization Server on.
- Select the Authorization Server Properties Link (The Modify Authorization Server window appears at the General Tab).
- Select the Credit Card tab.
- Change the Credit Card Protocol to VeriFone.SIM.PAYware.
- Enter the Primary URL as https://IPCharge.net/IPCHAPI/RH.aspx
Enter the Secondary URL as https://IPCharge2.net/IPCHAPI/RH.aspx
Enter the User Name of the PAYware Connect user to be used by the the TallySales Cash Register.

- Enter the Password of the PAYware Connect User into the password field.
- Enter the Response Timeout.
Enter the Merchant Key.

- Select Save.
- Select Exit (The Modify Authorization Server window closes).
Configuring the Store
General Configuration
If the unit desired to be the Authorization Server is not currently configured as an Authorization Server, the store will also need to be configured.
- From the Enterprise Tab of TallyExplorer, select the Store to configure.
- Select the Configuration Tab.
- Select the Miscellaneous Preferences button.
- Select an Authorization Server Unit in the Authorization Server Section.
- Select Save.
Tendering Preferences
- From the Enterprise Tab of TallyExplorer, select the Store to configure.
- Select the Configuration Tab.
- Select the Tendering Preferences Button.
- Navigate to the Credit Card Section.
- Change Credit Card On to Yes.
Optional: Update Manual Prompt settings.

- Select Save.
Accepted Credit Cards
- From the Enterprise Tab of TallyExplorer, select the Store to configure.
- Select the Configuration Tab.
- Select the Accepted Credit Cards button.
- Select all credit cards accepted.
- Select Save.
All Open Registers must be Backdoor Closed and reopened to load the new Credit Card configuration. Please see the Backdoor Close How-to Article for more information.
Configuring the Register
Configuring the Client Id
- From the Enterprise Tab of TallyExplorer, select the Register to configure.
Within the My Authorization Server Section, enter the Merchant Id Number as the PAYWare Client Id.
- Optional: Within the My Authorization Server Section, enter the Override Merchant Number.
- Select Save.
Configuring the Register Profile
- From the Enterprise Tab of TallyExplorer, select the Register Profile button (The Register Profile window opens).
- Expand the tree view and select the Register Profile to configure.
- Select Allow Credit Cards within the Allowance Settings section of the General Tab.
- From the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), select Save.
Registering the Support Files
From the TallySales\Support Folder on the register unit, locate the Verifone.SAX.Installxx.Bat batch file.
Verifone.SAX.Install32.Bat is for 32 bit operating systems while Verifone.SAX.Install64.Bat is for 64 bit.
- Right-click on the corresponding file and select Run As Administrator (The batch file opens and begins to execute).
- Select OK on the Success Response.
- Press any key to continue (The batch window closes).
Configuring the Credit Card Reader
PAYware Connect supports the following Types of Credit Card Readers:
- Encrypted HID Magnetic Card Reader
- Non-Encrypted HID Magnetic Card Reader
- Encrypted USB Keyboard Wedge Magnetic Card Reader
- Non-Encrypted USB Keyboard Wedge Magnetic Card Reader
The Encrypted HID Magnetic Card Reader is viewed as the best option for PCI Compliance with PayWare Connect.
HID Magnetic Card Reader
From the TallySales\Support Folder of the register unit, open TestApp.Verifone.exe.
- Select the Device Configuration button (The Register Properties window appears).
Select USB.
From the Device drop down, select the installed Encrypted / Non-Encrypted HID Magnetic Card Reader.
- Select OK (A prompt to Save changes is displayed).
- Select Yes (The Save window closes and returns to the Register Properties window).
- Select OK (The Register Properties window closes).
- Select OK (The Credit Card Diagnostics window closes).
Keyboard Wedge Magnetic Card Reader
- From the TallySales\Support Folder of the register unit, open TestApp.Verifone.exe (The Credit Card Diagnostics window appears).
- Select the Device Configuration button (The Register Properties window appears).
Select Keyboard Wedge.
- Select OK (A prompt to Save changes is displayed).
- Select Yes (The Save window closes and returns to the Register Properties window).
- Select OK (The Register Properties window closes).
- Select OK (The Credit Card Diagnostics window closes).
All Open Registers must be Backdoor Closed and reopened to load the new Credit Card configuration. Please see the Backdoor Close How-to Article for more information.
