Overview

The Customer Quote feature allows a transaction to be saved at the point-of-sale that can be recalled and completed at a later date.  The recalled Customer Quote can then be edited and saved again or completed.

This Technical Release will explain the steps needed to create, recall, and modify/complete a Customer Quote in the TallySales Cash Register.

Creating a Customer Quote

Customer Quotes are entered in exactly the same manner as normal transactions with regards to adding products and applying discounts.

  1. Associate a customer with the current sale.
  2. Add merchandise to the current sale and modify accordingly (e.g. discount).
  3. Select Create a Quote (The Create a New Quote screen appears).

The Create Quote button can be found in several locations, depending on the unit's Register Profile:

    • The Product Panel
    • The Function Panel
    • A Speedkey
    • The Menu by selecting Sale Functions > Finish Sale
  4. Optional: Enter any Notes for the Quote.
  5. Associate a customer to the quote (If not done in step 1).
  6. Optional: Enter a Lookup Text.

The Lookup Text is used for quickly identifying the quote when the customer may have multiple quotes.

  7. Select Create Quote.

Serial Numbers are removed from all Quotes.  When the Quote is completed, the Serial Numbers need to be re-entered.
