View the SQL query used by a Report
All reports within the TallySales Management System use a single query to display the report Data except for spreadsheet based reports. A spreadsheet based report opens directly in a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel and not the TallySales Report Viewer. An example of the a spreadsheet based report is the Register Activity report found in the Financials section of Reports Explorer.
Step-by-step guide
- Open the TallyReports Report Explorer.
- Highlight the report to retrieve the SQL query from within the tree view.
- From the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), Select the Edit Report icon (The Report Designer window appears.)
- From the Report Explorer Pane, Expand Data Sources
- Expand TallySalesDatabase
- Right click on ReportFields and Select Edit (The DataSet window appears at the General page.)
- Select the Query page.
- Retrieve the report query from the Query section.
- Select Cancel (The DataSet window closes and returns to the Report Designer.)
- From the Menu, Select Close (The Report Designer closes and returns to the TallyReports Report Explorer.)
