Creating a PcCharge Configuration Disk

A Configuration Disk is a backup of settings for PcCharge that are related to your credit card processing, such as credit card processor and merchant information.

The difference between the configuration disk and the backup/restore functions is that the backup/restore functions use ZIP compression and also save PCCharge's database.

Creating a Configuration Disk

  1. Log in to PcCharge using the SYSTEM user.

  2. Select Configuration Disk from the Utilities drop down menu  (The Configuration Disk Maintenance window will appear).

  3. Ensure the Update/Create Config Disk option is selected.

  4. Select OK.

  5. Select Yes to overwrite a previous Configuration Disk.

  6. Select OK to Inserting the Configuration Disk.

  7. Select Cancel to the Insert a Disk into drive A: message (A Copy Configuration Files to... screen appears).

  8. Select a Location to save the Configuration Disk to.

  9. Select Open (The Configuration Disk will be created and a Confirmation screen will appear).

  10. Select OK.

Configuration disks can be created using almost any removable media that can be modified such as a USB thumb drive or CD\DVD.. You may even store your configuration disk on a separate computer accessed via a network. The important thing is to store your backup data away from the computer on which PcCharge is installed.
